Development of Tractor Front Mounted Harvester for Finger Millet
نویسندگان
چکیده
Finger millet crop is important minor millet, which can serve as both food and fodder. Manual harvesting of finger involves earhead stalk separately labor intensive. Hence, the study aimed to design develop a harvester for remove drudgery in achieve low cost harvesting. The machine parameters influencing millets were identified most prominent variety CO (Ra) 14 millet. A prototype was developed effect operational evaluated terms header loss at different levels rotational speed reel 30, 35 40 revolutions per minute (rpm), 35, 45 cm mounting height forward 1.6, 2.68, 3.48 km/h. performance harvest found satisfactory. Comparing best combinations parameters, minimum 1.25 cent achieved combination 30 rpm reel, 2.68 km/h speed.

Calibration and Algorithm Development for Estimation of Nitrogen in Wheat Crop Using Tractor Mounted N-Sensor
The experiment was planned to investigate the tractor mounted N-sensor (Make Yara International) to predict nitrogen (N) for wheat crop under different nitrogen levels. It was observed that, for tractor mounted N-sensor, spectrometers can scan about 32% of total area of crop under consideration. An algorithm was developed using a linear relationship between sensor sufficiency index (SIsensor) a...
متن کاملDesign, construction and testing of an apricot tractor-trailed harvester
The purpose of this research is to facilitate the mechanical harvesting of apricots (Prunus armeniaca L.) for industry. A tractor-trailed harvester was built to catch the fruits detached from apricot (cv. Búlida) trees by vibratory systems. This machine is a low profile catcher that can move under the trees in high-density canopies where umbrella-type harvesters cannot. The trailer is able to w...
متن کاملtest and performance evaluation of a tractor front - mounted rice reaper and comparison it with two available reapers
it is very important to test and evaluate the performance and ability of new-design machinery in comparison with available ones. based on this, a tractor front-mounted rice reaper was compared and evaluated with tiller- mounted and self-propelled reapers. field experiments were conducted to determine forward speed, field capacity, harvesting losses, labor and costs. experiments were conducted b...

Uganda is dominated by agriculture with over 80 percent of the 24.6 million people involved in subsistence farming. The most important cereals are maize, finger millet and sorghum in that order. Finger millet is the second most important cereal in Uganda after maize and exceeding sorghum both in area and production. It is the staple food for over 50% of the country’s 24.6 million people and inc...
متن کاملEvaluation of a Walking Tractor Drawn Peanut Harvester and Comparing It With Manual Harvesting
The object of this study was evaluation of a walking tractor drawn peanut harvester at different conditions of soil moisture content and forward speed and comparing it with manual harvesting. The evaluation factors for peanut harvester were two levels of soil moisture content and three levels of forward speed. The results revealed that the effect of soil moisture content was only significant on...
